I spent my day yesterday helping a friend with a photo session she was running for Spring. This consisted of "mini" sessions for parents to bring in their children for a 15 minute photo shoot in their Easter Sunday best. The kicker....their session includes photos of the children with baby chicks! We had 22 chicks peeping away in their makeshift home for the day. In case you're worried, my friend finds a home for her furry models before ordering...and that home is on a farm with responsible chick lovers. :) After a long day of corralling chicks and babies and parents and poo, I spent the evening with hubby and a friend at my new favorite Italian restaurant, Biaggis! We came home soon after and all fell asleep watching a movie (thus the missing blog entry for Saturday)!
Today has been much more relaxed. Church this morning (um...the late service so that I could finally sleep for the first time since last Saturday!), lunch at home since all of our friends were eating while we were in church, and then planning for the rest of the week. My dinner menu is up, shopping list created, and weekend goal was met! I took the pup on a walking this afternoon (whoo! hoo! hoo!) We weren't out for much more than 10 minutes, if that, but we did walk a mile through the neighborhood.
In addition to meeting my mini goal for the weekend, I took the time to create other mini goals for the rest of the week. The list is on the fridge, right next to my dinner menu, so I'm guaranteed to see it! I hope to do the following by next Sunday:
* 20 minute walk with puppy
* 20 minute walk with or without puppy
* 100 sit-ups
* weights for 10 minutes
* eat four salads
* drink four bottles of water, or 80 oz.
Eventually, I will have worked my way to running a few times a week and lifting weights on alternate days. And just to clear up that image in your head...my weights weigh no more than 5lbs., but I actually have a set that weigh 3lbs., and may even have 1-2lb-ers as well. Sadly, I rarely use any of them so I don't remember for sure.
For now, I'm happy with walking and a little ab work. But, my prayer for the next few weeks will be for God to give me the motivation to keep working out! I need to for multiple reasons and I need it to stick no matter what! I got by on being "skinny" for 25 years...but that won't cut it for the next 25. Time to get crackin' on the stubborn lazy girl habits. Today was a successful start!
Happy Sunday, Everyone!
If you had to create three fitness goals for the week, what would they be?
